Almost half of partisan Democrats will, by definition, be at least slightly disappointed with the Party's ultimate choice of presidential nominee. Whichever candidate wins, there will be some healing required. I hope it's not too much: the stakes are incredibly high this election, and we must defeat John McCain. We all learned, starting only 8 years ago, the huge differences between the Democrat and the Republican, including thousands of lives lost unnecessarily.
So let's spend some time thinking about the positives in the other candidate. What do you like about the other candidate? What policy positions do you like? What personal characteristics do you find compelling?
If you currently support Senator Clinton, then try posting one or two characteristics you like about Senator Obama. If you currently support Senator Obama, post about Senator Clinton. If you're on the fence like me and proud of both candidates, then something you like about each.
There's only one special rule for this thread: everyone is entitled to hide- or troll-rate posts which are devoid of positives (or worse). This thread is an experiment in positive democracy. Every other message thread is available for both positive and negative remarks.
About Senator Clinton: I admire her determination and toughness. She is a fighter and can battle the wingnuts as effectively as anyone.
About Senator Obama: I am impressed with how he returned to community organizing and civil rights law after graduating from Harvard. He could have gone anywhere and earned buckets of money, but instead he decided to help those most in need.
